Troop 444 has been praised as a troop known for Instilling VALUES in young men that last a LIFETIME! We love anything and everything scouting! We meet every Monday at 6pm at Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Kyle St.

What is Scouting all about? Simply put Scouting is a movement designed to help young people grow and reach their best potential using tried and true methods. Scouting has often been called "A Game with a Purpose" because it uses activities and outdoor programs that are fun and challenging to create growth opportunities and memories that can last a lifetime. But we're getting ahead of ourselves. Perhaps the best place to start with the goals or aims of Scouting listed below.

Boy Scout Oath or Promise

On my honor, I will do my best
To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law;

To keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.

SCOUTING provides you experiences and challenges that will help you mature into a strong, wise adult. The Scout Oath and the Scout Law can guide you while you are a Scout and throughout your life.

Membership Requirements

Boy Scout Program Membership

Boy Scouting, one of the traditional membership divisions of the BSA, is available to boys who have earned the Arrow of Light Award or have completed the fifth grade, or who are 11 through 17 years old. The program achieves the BSA's objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness qualities among youth by focusing on a vigorous program of outdoor activities.
